Now more than ever before, NHA is poised to pursue projects within the Portland Metropolitan area and across the State of Oregon in collaboration and partnership with diverse communities. We have almost 400 multi-family units under construction, over 600 multi-family units in pre-development, and are considering new opportunities and partnerships regularly.

NHA is looking for one or two new development team members to fill the position(s) of Associate Housing Developer, Housing Developer I, and/or Senior Housing Developer - depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and abilities.

If you have:
  • a passion for affordable housing;
  • a committment to community development and social justice;
  • a strong interest in working in collaboration with project teams and among community partners;
  • with a background or interest in construction management or housing finance
...then, we want to talk to you!

Position Summary: The Housing Developer position performs work in the real estate development of housing projects to further the NHA mission to provide affordable housing to those with low incomes including families, seniors, people with disabilities, and people experiencing homelessness.

The Housing Developer takes a role in managing the real estate development process -- e.g. identifying sites, evaluating project feasibility, securing financing, supervising construction, and transitioning new construction/rehab projects to NHA's Asset Management Department. These tasks include providing direction to a large team of varied partners.
