Job Summary
The Major Gifts Officer is a newly established position that will join a growing Resource Development team focused on qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donors on behalf of Northwest Housing Alternatives and its programming throughout Oregon.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative fundraiser with experience and interest in prospecting and cultivating new funding relationships and encouraging higher levels of commitment from existing donors. This position reports to the Director of Philanthropy and Resource Development.
This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $70,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects and donors.
- Develop, plan, and implement a prospecting and major gifts strategy.
- Successfully meet fundraising goals collaboratively and creatively.
- Work with the Director of Philanthropy and Resource Development to steward the Opportunity Fund Council.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in major funds solicitation.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Experience with donor database programs.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in partnership with staff, volunteers, funders, and NHA’s board of directors.
Experience & Education:
- 5+ years of experience in nonprofit development and major gifts.
