Northwest Housing Alternatives (NHA) is recruiting to hire a highly motivated Program and Data Coordinator to join the Homeless Intervention Service Team and support other program areas across the organization. Now more than ever, NHA is poised to deliver impactful affordable housing development projects and supportive programs in the Portland metropolitan area and across the state of Oregon in collaboration and partnership with Black, Indigenous, and communities of color.

Position Title: Program & Data Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Programs

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

Salary: $43,000 - $63,000

Position Summary

The Program & Data Coordinator works to support the data needs of the Resident Services, Annie Ross House, HomeBase, and Pathways programs at Northwest Housing Alternatives. This position will work alongside staff from each program and reports to the Director of Programs. This position will also work closely with the Finance department of Northwest Housing Alternatives to ensure departmental grant spending is tracked correctly. Job responsibilities include data entry, ensuring data accuracy in HMIS and Salesforce, evaluation and reporting for whole programs as well as individual initiatives within each program, and assisting in the design of data tracking and programmatic outcomes to ensure continuous program improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support data needs of services programs
  • Assist with data-driven program design
  • Complete all HMIS data entry and management
  • Synthesize program-level data for organizational use
  • Prepare and submit program reports for a variety of audiences
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 3 years of experience with data entry and use of reporting in HMIS
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders verbally and in writing
  • Commitment to racial equity and justice
  • Passion for serving people experiencing homelessness and/or earning low incomes and understanding of the root causes of homelessness

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with Salesforce highly preferred
  • Formal training in program evaluation
  • Positive attitude and team focused energies
  • Effective problem-solving skills

Other Requirements

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.



Education and Experience:

  • 3 years of experience with data entry and use of reporting in HMIS
  • Knowledge of basic concepts of nonprofit program evaluation
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Publisher, and experience with PiktoChart or Tableau
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders verbally and in writing

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds at times
